SİDE MUSEUM İS EXPECTİNG THE SECOND ROMAN LİON

One of the two marble lion statues from the Roman period discovered at the Side Ancient City at Manavgat county, Antalya province, was put on display at the Side Museum. Beyzade Yaycıoğlu, leader of the archaeological team conducting the restoration and repair work on the statues found both split in two parts, declared: “We completed the restoration of one of the two lion sculptures. It is now on display at the museum’s courtyard. We almost finished the repair work on the second lion as well. Both lion statues will be able to welcome their visitors at the museum shortly.”
